Despite a depth of just 20mm, this model features an ultra-wide 4.8" inch touch screen that gives a clear, unambiguous display of route information. The bright, full color touch screen offers high contrast, wide angle viewing for maximum visibility under all driving conditions. For even greater convenience, the wide 16:9 touch screen also offers a linear display of route waypoints, fuel stations and other point of interest - a vital safety benefit when you're concentrating on an unfamiliar route. This Dynamic Routing Information is displayed on the same screen alongside the conventional map view, giving drivers an unambiguous, easy-to-understand picture of "what's coming up next". Unique Sony Position Plus technology ensures accurate, uninterrupted routing even when GPS signals are temporarily compromised. This can happen when a vehicle is traveling beneath a tunnel or bridge, between tall buildings or under trees with dense foliage that can obscure satellite signals. An acceleration sensor and pressure sensor interpret vehicle motion to assure more stable, reliable positioning information.
