Once again, Sony redefines the boundaries between AV and IT, with the first CD recorder and audio player that works and plays wherever you do. The CRX10U-RP is the first member of Sony's new Digital Relay family of computer peripheral products featuring integrated AV functionality and a USB interface for plug-and-play connectivity. With a CD player, MP3 CD player and a slim CD writer in one portable package, the Digital Relay provides active consumers and business professionals with the ultimate in CD drive technology. When connected to your PC, the CRX10U-RP will allow you to perform CD-R/RW recording tasks to backup your system, record digital images and create original music CD's. And when you're on the move, you can play back audio CD's, or listen to MP3 CD's allowing up to 11 hours of music to be stored on a single disk. Of course, Sony has ensured that such unbeatable flexibility is matched with compact practicality and a generous accessories package. The unit can be controlled by a wired remote that features standard playback and volume controls, a battery life indicator and an LCD display for viewing MP3 music titles in ID3 tag format, or CD TEXT information if encoded on the disk. AC or battery powered, the unit allows for up to two hours of CD recording, and two and a half hours playback on a rechargeable InfoLithium battery when a plug socket is out of reach. With IT convergence firmly in mind, Sony have also ensured full compatibility with Macintosh and Windows systems and include a powerful software suite, making it the ideal accessory to your iBook or laptop PC.
