V2i Protector 1.1 enhances V2i Protector's ability to protect and recover your organization's valuable systems and data. V2i Protector significantly reduces Time-to-Recovery (TTR) for Bare Metal Restores on Windows 2000 Servers. By providing key enhancements, you will now experience even greater reliability when protecting your valuable system and data volumes, including database volumes (such as Oracle, Exchange, and SQL) you may have within your environment. V2i Protector is the first hot server-backup imaging solution to enter the enterprise backup market. When using V2i Protector in conjunction with an existing tape backup solution or as your primary backup solution you will experience greater speed when backing up Windows 2000 Servers, increased reliability of backups that are created, and rapid server restorations in as little as a few minutes. V2i Protector 1.1 now adds even greater protection for Windows 2000 Servers by providing more powerful tools to backup and restore System and Data volumes, including volumes housing databases such as Oracle, Exchange, and SQL. V2i Protector now adds greater reliability for server recovery by offering the unique ability to restore a server back to its original state, including its valuable server utility/service partition and any other hidden server partitions. V2i Protector can now operate on systems that require support for double byte characters, such as Japanese and Chinese systems. Customize tasks pre-, mid, and post-backup by taking advantage of available V2i Protector "scripting hooks" that allow you to call external command files to run defined processes before, during and after an imaging session. This now provides greater control when protecting database volumes, by allowing databases to be put into a backup mode while V2i Protector creates the Virtual Volume Image and then brought back online within virtually seconds. Create a backup image of Microsoft clustered server volumes as long as the volumes appear "online". If V2i Protector comes across an "offline" volume, it will simply ignore it and continue with those volumes that are online. Leverage your multiple fiber channel card SAN environment to store valuable backup images or allow V2i Protector to backup volumes residing on the SAN. Rather than mounting one backup image as a network drive - mount as many as you need to share with others in your organization to provide quick access to backup information.
