The Packeteer Fiber Bypass Switch is an external bypass for fiber-optic network interfaces that ensures uninterrupted network access when the Packeteer unit is not powered, in bypass mode, or encounters an unlikely failure. The Switch has a spherical mirror that reflects optical signals to the appropriate fiber-optic connector, and power is only required to maintain the specified connectivity state.
