NETGEAR's FV318 Cable/DSL VPN Firewall Router solidifies office networks with the ultimate in data protection. It lets you initiate five VPN tunnels between authentic remote sites or mobile workforce so your Internet communications are private and your network remains secure. Armed with Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) to promote uninterrupted network operation and Denial of Service (Dos) attack protection, the FV318 also uses remote identity authentication to secure private transmission of data - preventing unauthorized users from accessing private information as it travels through the Internet. Network administrators can establish time-of-day usage limits, content filtering parameters, and limits on access to Web pages, chat and instant messenger services. And the FV318 can be set to log, report, and send real-time e-mail alerts of browsing activities. It notifies you of hacker attempts and tracks their source to deter future attacks. NAT routing and IPSec Support provide an extra level of security for shared resources. Cable/DSL Internet access sharing is provided for twenty users, an integrated, 8-port 10/100 switch, and an included Ethernet cable add value to this highly equipped router.
