The Coax/Twinax Card for SCS is a 32-bit PCI-based option that is installed in a slot in the printer. This feature provides the SNA Character String (SCS) data stream and either a coaxial or twinaxial connection. For the coax attachment, DSC/DSE data streams are also supported. With this option installed, the printer will emulate an IBM host-workstation printer and print from applications running on an IBM eServer iSeries or IBM mainframe. The Coax/Twinax Card for SCS automatically detects the type of cable, either coax or twinax, that is being used to connect the printer to its IBM host.
