As fiber optic networks expand across Wide and Metropolitan Area Networks (WAN/MAN), there is an increasing demand for greater distances without sacrificing data integrity. Cable installers are frequently called on to implement fiber runs for hundreds of kilometers to support the needs of enterprise campus networks, telecommunications and cable companies. Designed specifically for use by metropolitan fiber network operators, Telcos, Competitive Local Exchange Carriers, Internet Service Providers and other installers of single-mode fiber, the iMcV-FiberWay series of protocol-selectable, SNMP-manageable repeaters meets and exceeds the bandwidth and distance requirements of today's long-haul networks. iMcV-FiberWay modules are typically daisy-chained to facilitate fiber cable runs of hundreds of kilometers at a substantially lower cost than other repeater alternatives. FiberWay repeater modules retime the data signal, removing jitter prior to retransmitting the amplified signal. The FiberWay series supports user-selectable transmission speeds ranging from either 52 Mbps (OC-1) to 155 Mbps (OC-3) or 622 Mbps (OC-12) to 1250 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, providing a wide range of low-cost solutions for today's dynamic networks.
