DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition provides the functionality of DB2 Connect Enterprise Edition but is priced differently. It connects LAN-based workstations and their desktop applications to your company's mainframe and minicomputer host databases. As an alternative to user counting, IBM is introducing a MSU model, which allows unlimited user access, as long as the host machine is fully entitled for its processing capacity. An MSU entitlement must be obtained for each MSU on the DB2 host system. When this option is used, the customer need not count users of the DB2 Connect product.
