IBM's Serveraid II RAID adapter allows your IBM server to process requests more quickly and avoid bottlenecks with its support of both SCSI-2 and Wide Ultra SCSI. It offers three SCSI channels with each channel supporting up to fifteen disk drives. It supports RAID levels 0, 1, and 5 and allows you to change the RAID level of existing configurations on-the-fly. The Serveraid II has 4MB of write-back or write-through EDO cache memory that can be upgraded to an 8MB battery-backup cache. It has two VHDCI external connectors and three internal 68-pin connectors. The Serveraid II provides Logical Drive Migration (LDM) to let you add or remove disks or redefine arrays without shutting down your system. The Serveraid II periodically scans disk services and automatically repairs bad sectors on the disk array.
