Expand both the multimedia and storage capabilities of your IBM PC with IBM's internal CD-Rewriter option. With this CD-Rewriter you can erase and rewrite CD-RW discs at 2X (300KB/s), record CD-R discs at 4X (600KB/s), and read CDs at 24X (3600KB/s). CD-RW discs can be rerecorded up to 1000 times which makes them perfect for storing ongoing projects or creating digital photo albums or audio mixes. CD-R dics, because they can only be written to once, are ideal to archiving important files. They also can be read by just about any CD player so they are also a good medium for sharing files. The drive comes with Adaptec's Easy CD Creator and Direct CD recording software and blank CDs so you can start recording immediately. Easy CD Creator allows you to copy either data or music from your LPs and cassettes and record it to virtually any CD format, including data, audio, Video CD, and CD-Extra. (This process requires a soundcard.) The DirectCD software package makes this CD-Rewriter as easy to use as your hard drive. It allows you to drag and drop files, rename files, delete files, and create new directories right onto a CD-R or CD-RW disc.
