The Steel-Belted Radius Appliance is a stand-alone RADIUS server that combines the power and flexibility of Steel-Belted Radius/Enterprise Edition with the convenience of a dedicated rack-mountable device that's easily integrated into your network closet. Steel-Belted Radius is the market-leading RADIUS server that lets you centrally manage all your remote and wireless LAN (WLAN) user access and security. It is a complete implementation of the RADIUS protocol, and provides full user authentication, authorization, and accounting capabilities. For WLAN users, it also plays a critical role in securing users' connections over the wireless link. Running Steel-Belted Radius on an appliance offers many compelling advantages. This fully integrated system - which ships complete with a pre-loaded copy of Steel-Belted Radius and embedded Windows 2000 Professional operating system - lets you speed the deployment of RADIUS capabilities on your network. You'll be able to rapidly implement the remote and WLAN user security management capabilities of Steel-Belted Radius, through a simple configuration process and little ongoing maintenance. What's more, the Steel-Belted Radius Appliance offers several security advantages over multi-purpose servers. The "hardened" Windows operating system provides strong security out-of-the-box, and has been professionally optimized for Steel-Belted Radius and its environment.
