EP-8HDA3+ is EpoX' debut into the foray of 64bit computing through an ongoing and successful collaboration with both AMD and VIA Technologies. Using the VIA K8T800 Hyper transport chipset, supporting the 754pin Athlon 64 processor, the EP-8HDA3+ brings about a seamless migration to 64bit computing by offering un-paralleled performance using either 32bit or 64bit operating system. The Hyper Transport connection between the north bridge and the primary processor is 16bit wide in each direction and runs at 800MHz, yielding 6.4GB/s of bandwidth. The DDR memory Bus can enhance the performance of AMD64 processor. AMD64 architecture provides world-class performance on today's pervasive 32-bit applications and tomorrow's 64-bit PC applications. Unlike other 64bit processors, the Athlon 64 is 32bit compatible, and as such can utilize either 32bit or 64bit operating systems indiscriminately. The EP-8HDA3+ is suited to all users through its high level of integration and expandability. This board supports 6-channel audio with Jack Sensing, AGP 8x graphic technology, S/PDIF digital audio, Gigabit LAN support, serial ATA and RAID Functions.
