DIGITAL Archive/Backup System (ABS) for OpenVMS backs up and archives OpenVMS configurations across the enterprise, ranging from a standalone system to a network of clusters and workstations. ABS now extends to DIGITAL UNIX and Windows NT systems, as well as OpenVMS systems, for heterogeneous network support. ABS includes media management, scheduling and full cataloging for unattended backups. Automated backup reduces the cost and time spent managing data and devices. DIGITAL ABS automates backups, provides for system archiving, and makes it easy to find files stored on tapes and disks. Its client capability makes ABS a major component in a lights-out data center environment.
