This CD Storage System includes seven CD-ROM drives and allows multiple users access to the same CD-ROM information simultaneously on your NetWare or Windows NT network. It has a number of great features you'll be surprised to know. It provides simultaneous access for multiple users of up to seven 12X CD-ROM drives. With LUN, the CD Storage System is seen as a single SCSI ID, and the seven 12X CD-ROM Drives within the storage system are subdirectories of that drive ID, simplifying information access and enhancing scalability. It is really easy in use. With SCSI Express Software, which is included standard with each storage system, a graphical interface presents all CD-ROM disks as subdirectories of a single drive volume, allowing users to easily access the desired information. The graphical interface does not require additional user training. Couple one or many CD-Storage Systems with one of Compaq's servers and users have a powerful information delivery product over the network. Because Compaq provides the building blocks, customers can build products that suit their storage and data needs. Additional CD-Storage Systems can be added onto a single controller as your needs change (SCSI cable lengths are limited to 19.6 ft or 6 meters; use of a repeater may be necessary). Up to seven 12X CD-ROM drives are supported per storage system providing up to 4.5 GB of storage per system; for maximum storage capacity, LUN technology allows connection of up to seven CD-Storage Systems to a single SCSI controller giving you a total of 49 12X CD-ROM drives and 31.5 GB of CD-ROM data online.
