It transfers data at up to 80MB per second, allowing you to power through all your data-intensive applications, whether they are complex graphics, financial analysis, scientific simulations, or data-mining. Plus the 2930U2 features a built-in processor, which frees your system's CPU for other tasks, cutting your response times and boosting your productivity. The 32-bit PCI 2930U2 incorporates Adaptec's SpeedFlex technology to ensure that you get the greatest performance from your Ultra2 SCSI peripheral. By electronically isolating the Ultra2 SCSI bus from the Ultra SCSI bus, SpeedFlex allows an Ultra2 SCSI and legacy SCSI peripherals to operate simultaneously at the maximum speed of each peripheral. SpeedFlex technology creates two independent SCSI segments on the SCSI card to simultaneously support an Ultra2 peripheral at speeds of up to 80MB per second on one segment and Fast and Ultra SCSI devices at speeds up to 20MB per second on the other segment. Without SpeedFlex technology, if any legacy peripheral is attached to a SCSI card that supports the Ultra2 SCSI protocol, the entire bus and any attached peripherals will drop to Ultra SCSI performance levels. The 2930U2 uses bus master DMA (Direct Memory Access) and supports up to 15 internal or external SCSI devices. It features simultaneous support for SCSI-1, SCSI-2, Fast SCSI, Fast Wide SCSI, Ultra SCSI, Wide Ultra SCSI, and Ultra2 SCSI devices so you can add a variety of bootable and non-bootable peripherals to your system. Only one Ultra2 SCSI device can be connected to the 2930U2.
