The 3Com 11a/b/g Wireless 11 PCI Adapter provides access to IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g networks, allowing users to connect desktop PCs to the wireless network in a convenient location. It supports speeds of up to 108 Mbps in turbo mode, on 802.11g or 802.11a networks. Wi-Fi a/b/g certification ensures interoperability with products carrying the Wi-Fi logo from other vendors. A host of features ensure reliable wireless connections and excellent speeds. Three detachable antennas assure access to the wireless signal. Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) adds managed QoS, critical for the new generation of delay-sensitive data, voice, and video applications. To protect sensitive data, the PCI adapter supports Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA, WPA2) and 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption for higher level security, and Wireless Equivalent Privacy (WEP) 40-/60-/128-bit shared-key encryption. To protect against unauthorized network access, the adapter supports the IEEE 802.1X authentication, and EAP authentication protocols. Setup and operation are extraordinarily easy.
